Almost every photo on this site was taken by me, of hardware I own, in the house that hardware runs in. This page says what you can do with those photos.

The terms

The photographs and screenshots I made are my original work and are protected by copyright. All rights reserved. That means no reuse, republication, redistribution, cropping, or use in a dataset without my written permission first.

Quoting this site in an article or a video is normal practice, and a link back is appreciated. Lifting the images to illustrate someone else's product page is not.

Images that aren't mine

A few posts carry an image with a credit line in the caption. Those belong to whoever the caption names, and nothing on this page grants any right to them. Screens captured from a manufacturer's app show that company's software and interface, which remain theirs.

Asking for permission

Email me through the contact page with the post URL, the image you want, and where it would appear. I answer these, and for most editorial uses the answer is yes with a credit and a link.
