About homekit.reviews
homekit.reviews is a reliability lab for the Apple-first smart home. We focus on one thing and try to do it better than anyone: telling you which HomeKit, Thread, and Matter gear actually works — and which quietly falls off your network two weeks later.
Why we exist
The smart-home space is full of spec-sheet roundups written by people who never plugged the device in. Matter and Thread break on version specifics and real-world mesh behavior that a spec sheet can't capture. So we buy the gear, live with it in a real mixed Matter/Thread/HomeKit household, and report what happened — including the annoying parts.
Who writes this
Reviews are written by Matthew Easterday, who runs the test home and has been building out Apple-based smart homes since the early HomeKit days. Every review is tied to a named author with hands-on time on the device — never anonymous, never untested.
How we make money
We use affiliate links: if you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That never changes our verdict — the testing notes are the product. See our affiliate disclosure and testing methodology for the full picture.
